Our business is called Filestream Ltd.

When was your business founded?
Filestream Ltd was founded in 1986.

What products or services do you offer?
We provide document management software, available both on-premises and hosted in the cloud.

What problem does your business solve for customers?
We help organisations protect their data by improving security and GDPR compliance, while also enabling fast and efficient access to information.

What makes your business unique or different from competitors?
Our exceptional customer support sets us apart. We take the time to understand each customer’s unique challenges and tailor solutions accordingly. Our software is user-friendly, secure and designed with GDPR compliance at its core.

What inspired you to start this business?
Filestream was born out of an office equipment company called Lectus Ltd. We originally sold third-party document management software, but after encountering ongoing frustrations, we decided to develop our own solution.

What was the biggest challenge you faced when starting out?
As we were not software developers, we had to learn an entirely new business and development roadmap.

What do you consider your biggest success so far?
We now support customers around the world with their document management needs and have won the DM Award for our software for the past four consecutive years.

What is your vision for the business?
Our vision is to help organisations protect their information and prevent data being compromised through breaches.

Who has influenced your entrepreneurial journey?
Our customers have been our biggest influence, continually shaping how we develop and improve our solutions.

Who is your ideal customer?
We don’t have a single ideal customer. We work with organisations of all sizes and sectors. Every business has information that needs to be securely stored and organised, and many can benefit from improved and automated processes using workflows.

What is the main need or pain point that your customers have?
This varies widely. Many customers use our software for HR records, while others rely on it for quick and easy access to information. Some organisations identify very specific challenges and use our workflow functionality to address them precisely.

What locations or communities do you serve?
While most of our customers are based in the UK, we also support clients in Ireland, India, Africa and the United States.

Why have you chosen to exhibit at The Care Show?
We work extensively with organisations in the care sector, including care homes and hospitals. Our software delivers clear benefits in process efficiency and secure medical records management, making The Care Show a natural fit for us.
